OnePlus 12 fast charging, camera and other specs tipped in latest leak

OnePlus 12 periscope camera tipped

• The highlight of the leak is a new periscope camera for the OnePlus 12. This would the make the OnePlus 12 the second phone from the company to feature a periscope camera, assuming the OnePlus V Fold, which is launching later this year, to be the first. Earlier, tipster Max Jambor had also spoken about the OnePlus 12 getting a periscope lens. To recall, OnePlus had tested a periscope camera for one of its OnePlus 10 Pro iterations, but it never reached the market.
• The OnePlus 12 camera combination is said to be 50MP+50MP+64MP, with the main rear camera having an IMX9 series sensor, all housed in a circular camera module. We assume it could be Sony’s 1-inch IMX989, which is present on the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro+.
• The ultra-wide camera will also be 50MP, while the telephoto lens will be upgraded from 32MP IMX709 to the 64MP OV64B by OmniVision.
• Further, the tipster, through his Weibo post (via), has tipped a third-generation Snapdragon 8 series chipset for the phone.
• Another notable detail is the higher charging speed, with a 50 percent increase in wattage as compared to the predecessor, OnePlus 11. A wired charging speed of 150W has been tipped for the OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 12 specifications (expected)

Here are the specs the phone is expected to come with based on the latest leak.

• Display: 2K Resolution, Samsung panel with Ultra-narrow bezels and centre punch-hole. The display specs of the phone have also been tipped earlier, speaking about an OLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
• Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset which is expected to come with a new Adreno 750 GPU, later this year.
• Camera: 50MP IMX9-series Main camera sensor, along with a 50MP Wide-angle and 64MP Omnivision OV64B Periscope camera sensors, an upgrade over 50MP+48MP+32MP setup present in the OnePlus 11.
• Charging Speed: 150W, an upgrade over OnePlus 11’s 100W fast charging. The brand earlier brought this feature to OnePlus 10R.
• Battery: Similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11 will come with a 5,000 mAH battery.
• Design: The upcoming phone is expected to feature a Circular Camera model at the centre of the back panel.

OnePlus 12 launch timeline

The brand is expected to launch the OnePlus 12 in its home country in December of this year, slightly earlier than the January release that OnePlus 11 received. Following the usual timeline, the phone should make its way to global markets early next year.
