In response to a user on Twitter, OnePlus’ Support account revealed that the OnePlus 11R will receive four major Android updates and five years of security updates. This is the most software updates any R-series phone has received, indicating that both newly released OnePlus smartphones will receive up to Android 17. The devices currently ship with Android 13-based OxygenOS.

Only a few devices priced under Rs 40,000 are eligible for up to four years of Android OS updates. Most of them only offer a maximum of two or three versions. The OnePlus 11R 5G is a great option for those who want an affordable OnePlus phone that is expected last longer and stays relevant (at least on the software side of things) with 4 major Android updates.

The newly launched OnePlus 11R 5G starts at Rs 39,999 for the base 8GB+128GB storage variant and Rs 44,999 for the 16GB+256GB model. The smartphone will be available for pre-order from February 21st and will go on the first sale on February 28th.

The smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The smartphone comes equipped with a 16MP selfie camera on the front. The OnePlus 11R 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU. The handset houses a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charge support.

In terms of connectivity options, the smartphone includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, an alert slider, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
