Now Enjoy Parathas On Weight Loss Diet – Try This Low-Carb Paratha Recipe

What is the worst thing about a low-carb diet? To give up on Indian breads. We have grown up eating rotis and parathas every day, and it seems impossible to give it all up, just like that. We know that our roti is made with healthy whole wheat flour but it’s true that it is also loaded with carbs, which makes it not a great food for a weight loss diet. While there’s always an option to cut down its consumption but there are many of us who want to have our parathas for almost all meals of the day. If you are someone who loves parathas as we do, then we have a great find to share with you. We found a recipe of a low-carb paratha! Amazing, isn’t it? 

Nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary posted the recipe of a low-carb paratha on her Instagram page and it immediately caught our eye. Can’t wait to know the recipe? Here it is.

Low-Carb Paratha Recipe I How To Make Low-Carb Paratha For Weight Loss: 

Ingredients: 

1/2 cup gluten-free atta
1/2 cup grated cauliflower
1/4th cup finely chopped onions
Salt, chilli powder, amchoor and coriander to taste
2 tbsp of ghee
Some Water or almond milk 

Method: 

Knead dough with all the above ingredients. Keep this mixture aside for 30 minutes. Roll into small bites and press them with a rolling pin between 2 sheets of butter paper.

Add some ghee on a hot pan, remove the butter paper on top and flip the paratha onto the pan, wait for it to cook a little and then gently remove the other butter paper on top and flip to cook when it’s ready.

Rashi Chowdhary also warns us not to expect the texture of the paratha like our regular parathas. But we are sure it would taste good. The nutritionist also adds that we should avoid corn flour and stick to other healthy gluten-free flours. Also remember to grate the cauliflower, steam it, drain it, and then use in the recipe.  

Here’s another great tip. If you struggle with binding your dough, you can add 1 tbsp of Psyllium Husk to get the texture right.
