Nothing has released a new software update for the Phone (1), Nothing OS 1.5.3, just weeks after the rollout of Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5. The updated version comes with various improvements, including bug fixes, visual enhancements, performance upgrades, new wallpapers, and several other features.
The new update, which rolls out starting today, includes a novel “memory management algorithm” that effectively minimises CPU and power consumption when reopening apps after they’ve been closed.
Additionally, the update includes new software within the operating system to support the upcoming Ear (2) release, new wallpapers, and the ability to add games to Game Mode manually. Further, the update promises to deliver smoother animations, as well as an “enhanced fingerprint transition” between the lock screen and Always On Display.
Among the several bug fixes, the update addresses some of the major issues, such as the abnormal appearance of Night Light mode, Glyph lights not displaying for incoming WhatsApp calls, freezes occurring during YouTube video playback, weather data not appearing in the Quick Look widget, and the charging prompt flashing on the AOD interface.
