Nothing launched the Nothing OS Launcher ahead of Nothing Phone 1 Launch
Earlier this year, Carl Pei’s Nothing confirmed the launch of its first smartphone dubbed as Nothing Phone 1 that will arrive a month later. Well, Nothing has released the Android-powered Nothing OS out-of-the-box that gives you a first look of the UI before the phone goes official.
Nothing OS Launched Before Nothing Phone 1
The Nothing Phone 1 will arrive with Nothing OS and it turns out the Chinese manufacturer has released the Nothing OS launcher way before the phone’s launch. Available as a public beta, you can download it on Google Pixel 5 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series among others. Nothing will add support to OnePlus in some time.
The launcher shows a rather bare look given the fact that it is still a beta and offers a fairly standard layout. The home screen gives you four icons in the dock much like the usual Android UI although the wallpaper is kind of burning icons along with the status bar. However, the good news is that you can still select a new wallpaper via Wallpaper & Style settings after long-pressing anywhere on the homescreen for a few seconds.
As said, there’s not much available on the launcher as of now. However, it is beta which means it comes with bare features and some of them will need an upgrade. You can still turn on and turn off notification dots icon and more.
There are tiny differences across various aspects and options. Currently, it has a soft grey background thanks to the gray-colored wallpaper. Nothing has made sure it will be porting new features and UI in the upcoming updates.
