Nothing closes another round of funding ahead of launch of Phone (2) – Times of India

London-based consumer technology company, Nothing is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, Nothing Phone (2) on July 11. The company has now announced that it has secured a funding of $96 million in a fresh round of funding. The funding round was led by Highland Europe, with participation from existing investors GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures and C Capital, alongside house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia.
With this funding the company aims to scale its product and technology portfolio. Carl Pei, Nothing CEO and co-founder said, “In just over two years, we’ve assembled one of the strongest teams in the industry and sold over 1.5 million devices worldwide. It’s clear that there’s real demand for an innovative challenger in the consumer tech industry, and with this new round of financing, we’ve never been better positioned to realize our vision to make tech fun again.”
For the unaware, Highland Europe, a London-based venture capital firm focusing on high-potential technology companies, invested based on Nothing’s success to date and future potential. Partner Tony Zappalà led the recent round and will be joining Nothing’s board.
Nothing Phone (2) to launch next month
Nothing recently announced that it will launch its next-generation flagship smartphone Nothing Phone (2) on July 11. The highly-anticipated launch event for the Nothing Phone (2) is set to take place on July 11 at 8:30 PM IST. The launch event will be broadcasted live on the company’s official website. Founder Carl Pei has been building anticipation around the Phone (2) for some time now, hinting at a superior and premium user experience compared to its predecessor, the Phone (1). Notably, the Phone (2) will come equipped with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, surpassing the Snapdragon 778G+ found in the first iteration.
