At a recent event, Neetu was asked to share her opinion on what Priyanka had said about politics in Bollywood. A video of Neetu Chandra’s reaction was shared on a paparazzo page on Instagram, in which the actor said, “Ye sabke sath hota hai, it is not like kisi ek ke sath hota hai (it happens with everyone, not just with a person in particular).” Neetu went on to say in Hindi, “If you don’t come from a film family, you have to fight for opportunities in this industry. It takes time to do good work. Priyanka has felt it, I have felt it. A lot of other people have felt it. The point is whether you can come forward and speak about it or not. Like I have said earlier also.”

Priyanka Chopra had spoken about facing politics in Bollywood and the real reason she moved to the US in her recent interview on the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd. Priyanka had said, “I was not happy with the work I was getting in Bollywood. I am going to talk about this for the first time because I feel insecure to talk about it. Anjali Acharya of Desi Hits once saw me in a music video and called me. At that time I was shooting for Saat Khoon Maaf. Anjali asked me if I would like to make my music career in America? I was looking for an escape from Bollywood at that time. I was looking for some way to get out of here. I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. People were not casting me. I had complaints with people. I am not good at playing those kinds of games. I was tired of politics and I needed a break.”

Priyanka made her US TV debut with Quantico in 2015. Since then she has acted in several Hollywood films as well, including Baywatch (2017) and The Matrix Resurrections (2021). Priyanka will next be seen in the spy series Citadel alongside Game of Thrones’ fame Richard Madden. On Thursday, Prime Video released a new trailer for Citadel, which gave a closer look at the train crash that seemingly marked the end of the elite spy agency Citadel. Citadel starts streaming on Prime Video on April 28.
