NAIA Women’s Golf All-Americans
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Malene Clausen was named a second team NAIA Women’s Golf All-American while Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Emma Hermansson and Nathalie Nutu and Pikeville’s (Ky.) Boo Newsome earned third team honors, the NAIA announced Thursday.
All-America selections are made by the NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Association All-America Committee. A total of 45 student-athletes were honored, with 15 individuals being named to each of the three teams.
Clausen, the Mid-South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year averaged 75.6 strokes per round this season. She posted seven top-five finishes this season and won two events. Clausen shot a 155 (80-75) in two rounds at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship
Hermannsson averaged 77.2 strokes per round. During the season, she won five events and posted top-five finishes in three other events. Hermannsson finished tied for 21st at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship shooting a 5-over par 221 (71-74-76).
Nutu recorded an average of 76.9 strokes per round in 24 rounds this season. She won four events and recorded top-five finishes in three other events. Nutu tied for 28th at the national championship with a 223 (74-75-74).
Newsome averaged 75.2 strokes per round this season. She won four events and earned an additional five top-five finishes.
