musk: Elon Musk’s ‘message’ to Apple employees over delay in coming back to office – Times of India

0

Earlier this week it was reported that Apple is — once again — delaying its plans to call employees back to the office regularly. A report by Bloomberg revealed that a surge in Covid-19 cases had led to further delays in calling employees back to the office. Apple employees are expected to come two days a week but Apple wanted to extend it to three days. Those plans are now on hold and this led to Tesla CEO ‘mocking’ the decision.
In a reply to a tweet to the Bloomberg report, Musk posted a meme, which reads, “Put on your gym clothes, watch TV.” Read what you want to into the tweet but clearly, it’s a dig as putting on your gym clothes and watching TV doesn’t mean someone is hard at work.
In fact, a report by Fortune suggests that Twitter employees have expressed concerns over their work-from-home plans. Twitter hasn’t made it mandatory for employees to come back to offices. However, if Musk does end up acquiring Twitter — the deal is still in limbo — then he might adopt different policies.
Musk, in fact, in the past has had words of praise for the Chinese work culture. He was quoted as saying that Chinese workers are known for “burning the 3 am oil” and that “they won’t even leave the factory…whereas in America people are trying to avoid going to work at all.” The meme is unlikely to go down too well with the employees of Twitter.
Musk’s acquisition of Twitter still remains unclear as he said that the number of fake accounts and bots could change the original valuation of the social media platform.
