Mukul Agrawal buys stake in half a dozen fresh stocks, exits 4 in Q2

New Delhi: Marquee investor Mukul Agrawal was on a buying spree in the September quarter of 2021, latest shareholding data shows.

Agrawal made a fresh entry into at least half a dozen stocks and increased stakes in two others, according to data from Trendlyne.

On the other hand, he seems to have exited as many as four companies during the July-September quarter, as his name does not figure among the shareholders holding one per cent or more.

Among the new additions, Agrawal has bought 7,16,000 equity shares, or 2.75 per cent stake, in PDS Multinational Group, a worldwide supplier for major brands and retailers. His stake in the company was worth Rs 91.3 crore at Wednesday’s price.

Agrawal also bought a significant stake in the latest debutant, Paras Defence and Space Technologies, during the quarter.

As per company’s latest shareholding data, Agrawal held 9,04,286, or 2.32 per cent, stake in the company. The scrip rallied 185 per cent on the day of listing and now trades at Rs 603.10, about 240 per cent above the issue price.

Agrawal also purchased a fresh stake in cement player Sahyadri Industries. He bought 2,25,000 equity shares, or 2.35 per cent stake, in the company during the Q2FY22, which is now worth Rs 15.1 crore.

Among other new buys, he purchased fresh stakes in Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (5,00,000 equity shares), Goldiam International (6,25,000 equity shares), and JTEKT India (31,58,510 equity shares), where he held 1.85 per cent, 2.82 per cent and 1.29 per cent stake, respectively, at the end of the quarter.

Agrawal purchased 23,172 equity shares of Taal Enterprises, a niche engineering and technology solutions provider serving Airline, to increase his stake to 8.81 per cent in September quarter. He held 2,51,251 equity shares or 8.06 per cent as of June 30, 2021.

He also upped his stake in the energy services provider EKI Energy Services where he bought 20,400 equity shares to raise his stake to 1.87 per cent from 1.57 per cent in Q1FY22.

Latest corporate shareholding dat filed thus far showed Agrawal publicly holds at least 27 stocks with a net worth of over Rs 1,242.4 crore.

During the quarter, he booked profits in Sequent Scientific, J Kumar Infraprojects, BEML and MSTC, which delivered him between 32-155 per cent returns in the 2021 so far. His name didn’t figure in the list of shareholders holding 1 per cent or more in these companies.
