On Tuesday, the Reliance Jio board announced Akash Ambani as the board’s new chairman. The move came a day after Mukesh Ambani resigned from the company’s director position. Akash Ambani earlier served as the non-executive director on the company’s board. The tenure for the post has been fixed at five years, starting June 27, 2022. Watch!
Ambani, the new chairman, was earlier serving as the non-executive director on the board of the company. Meanwhile, Pawar- who has so far served as a director on the telco’s board- succeeds Sanjay Mashruwala, the outgoing MD of the company.
The tenure for the positions has been fixed at five years starting from June 27, 2022.
“In accordance with the circular dated June 20, 2018, issued by the Stock Exchanges, we hereby confirm that Raminder Singh Gujral and KV Chowdary are not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any Securities and Exchange Board of India order or any other such authority,” said the company.
