BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Mid-South Conference Baseball Opening Round continued on Friday

Georgetown and Bethel punched its tickets to the tournament final site. Cumberlands won game one of its series against Tennessee Southern and Cumberland and Thomas More split on Friday and will play the if-necessary game on Saturday.

Georgetown vs. Pikeville

Fourth-seeded Georgetown (30-18) won the series over No. 9 seed Pikeville (17-32) 4-2. Georgetown struck first in the bottom of the first inning grabbing a 1-0 lead. The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the second. Pikeville got on the board in the top of the third while Georgetown added a run in the bottom of the inning to lead 3-1. The Bears trimmed the Tigers lead to 3-2 in the sixth inning. Georgetown added a run in the eighth to get the 4-2 victory to advance.

Bethel vs. Lindsey Wilson

Fifth-seeded Bethel took game two of the series against No. 8 seed Lindsey Wilson 12-11. The Blue Raiders led 4-0 after the fifth inning. Bethel cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 4-3 after scoring three run in the sixth inning. The Blue Raiders then scored four runs in the seventh to lead 8-3. Bethel would fight back rallying with five run to send the game to extra innings. In the 12th inning, Lindsey Wilson scored three runs. Facing elimination, the Wildcats rallied again scoring four in the bottom half of the inning for the 12-11 victory.

In game three, Lindsey Wilson took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Bethel then added three runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Blue Raiders tied the game in the top of the third before Bethel scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 6-3.

Lindsey Wilson tied the game in the top of the fourth before Bethel added two runs in the bottom of the inning. The Blue Raiders had once again tied the game in the top of the fifth. Bethel took control of the game in the bottom of the inning scoring six runs for the 14-8 lead. Lindsey Wilson added one run in the eighth

Cumberlands vs. Tennessee Southern

Seconded-seeded Cumberlands (39-13) took game one against No. 11 seed Tennessee Southern 10-0 in seven innings. The Patriots tallied 12 hits while limiting the Firehawks to just three. Following a scoreless three innings, Cumberlands scored three runs in the fourth. The Patriots added five runs in the sixth inning and two in the seventh for the run-rule victory.

Thomas More vs. Cumberland

No. 10 seed Cumberland (10-40) took game one from the third-seeded Saints (30-15) 16-5 in seven innings. The Phoenix jumped out early taking a 6-0 lead after the first two innings. Cumberland added four runs in the top of the fourth while Thomas More got on the board scoring two in the bottom of the inning. The Phoenix led 14-6 after the sixth and scored two runs in the seventh for the run-rule victory.

Thomas More answered back in game two picking up a 6-5 victory. The Saints took a 3-0 lead after two innings. Cumberland tied the game in the top half of the sixth before the Saints took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the inning. The Phoenix fought back to tie the game in the eighth on a Nolan Machibroda two-run home run. Thomas More forced the if-necessary game on a Gavin Vogelgesang walk-off single.
