MSC announces Appalachian Division Football Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Mid-South Conference announced Appalachian Division Football Players of the Week, as released by conference officials Monday.

MSC Appalachian Offensive Player of the Week

Isaiah Wright – Union (Ky.) – Jr. – Running Back – Harriman, Tenn.

• Wright ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns in Union’s (Ky.) 31-24 setback against Warner (Fla.) on Saturday.
• He averaged 6.6 yards per carry to post the program’s 23rd 150-yard game.
• Wright’s touchdown runs came from 14, 20, and 35 yards.
• Wright leads the NAIA, averaging 189 yards per game. His seven rushing touchdowns rank fourth in the nation.
• Wright earns his second MSC weekly honors of the season and of his career.

MSC Appalachian Defensive Player of the Week

Tyler Hallum – Reinhardt (Ga.) – Fr. – Defensive Back – Dallas Texas

• Hallum recorded three tackles and an interception in Reinhardt’s (Ga.) 34-33 loss at Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday.
• He returned his interception 60 yards for a touchdown that helped the Eagles’ comeback efforts. Reinhardt trailed 28-0 late in the third quarter.
• Hallum picks up the first MSC weekly honor of his career.

MSC Appalachian Special Teams Player of the Week

Seth Burke – Union (Ky.) – Sr. – Kicker – Owens Cross Roads, Ala.

• Burke scored six points in last week
• He connected on a 24-yard field goal and made all three of his extra-point attempts.
• Burke averaged 51.2 yards per kickoff in his five attempts.
• Burke earns his first career Mid-South weekly honor.
