Motorola’s new Android phone promises boost the Galaxy S23 can’t beat
Just when you thought picking your next Android phone was going to be easy, another device comes along which could make the decision a whole lot tougher. Motorola has just announced the release of a new flagship called the edge 40 pro and it includes one upgrade that its biggest rival currently can’t beat.
Tucked inside the packaging of the 40 pro is a super fast 125W TurboPower charging brick which can boost the battery from flat to full in just 23 minutes. That’s impressive and there are two reasons why Motorola is beating Samsung with this update.
Firstly, the Korean firm’s new Galaxy S23 doesn’t include a charger in the box which means splashing out extra to get quicker refills. Then, there’s the issue of speed as Samsung’s flagships are only compatible with 44W charging – that’s around three times slower than the edge 40 Pro.
Along with that impressive power boost, the new edge 40 pro also includes a striking borderless 6.67” FHD+ pOLED display which curves around the edges of the device.
To help make things look silky smooth and stutter free, users will also be treated to a 165Hz refresh rate and there’s the inclusion of content-boosting technology such as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
On the rear case there’s a triple lens camera system which Motorola is promising can snap pin-sharp images in any light plus there’s the ability to shoot striking landscapes and close-ups thanks to the wide-angle and macro features.
Home movies can also be given a Hollywood makeover with the device getting impressive image stabilisation and the ability to shoot in pixel-packed 8K resolution.
Other features packed inside the phone include a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and a design that’s covered in Gorilla Glass Victus for added durability.
If you fancy giving this phone a try the Motorola edge 40 pro will be on sale in the UK in the coming days with a starting price of £799.99. That’s £100 less than the Galaxy S23.
