Mira Rajput is ‘amazed’ by her mother-in-law and Kathak dancer Neliima Azeem. She shared a throwback video of her dance performance on Instagram Stories and revealed that it was just six months after the birth of Shahid Kapoor. Shahid is Neliima Azeem’s first child with ex-husband Pankaj Kapur. He is 41. Also read: Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Shahid Kapoor join Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon at Bhediya screening. Watch
Sharing the video of Neliima’s Kathak performance, Mira wrote, “I get goosebumps every time I see my mum-in-law perform. She’s such a beautiful artist, and I am amazed by how her feet move with so much speed and grace at the same time. Her feet could be racing in tatkar (the dance syllables that are produced from footwork in Kathak) but you will never notice instability. Legendary. Performing like a dream 6 months after Mr K (Shahid Kapoor) was born.”
Besides Shahid, Neliima Azeem has a younger son as well, actor Ishaan Khatter, with ex-husband Rajesh Khatter. Both Shahid and Ishaan are very close to each other. Neliima had opened up about her bond with Shahid and Mira in an interview with Bollywood Bubble last year.
She had said, “I seek out Shahid for these wonderful conversations on life we have and our sense of humour also tallies a lot, and he’s cute and kind and sensitive so I feel wonderful and safe around him. With Mira, I have all the understanding of what two women who are on the same page can have and who share the same life with the same people. And we’re both cool.”
Calling Mira her friend, Neliima had said, “Maybe I understand her because she is young, she got kids at a very young age, she’s extremely intelligent individual, yet she is kind and giving, understanding — I was very understanding with my first husband with his talent and his expertise get that break and I actually said ‘haan jao.’ She is somebody who doesn’t try to get her attention or seek that highlight, she’s just not a brat. She’s well-brought-up.”
