Microsoft plans to integrate Teams into Outlook, set to introduce new feature – Times of India
Microsoft Outlook and Teams integration: Teams Chat
As per Microsoft’s roadmap, this new feature, ‘Teams Chat’ will offer a simple Teams chat experience from Outlook in the context of a meeting for participants to send a quick message or review the chat. Instead of exchanging emails back and forth, participants and organisers can use the chat integration to discuss a meeting in real-time.
Microsoft Outlook and Teams upcoming features
The tech giant also intends to include Teams messages in search outcomes in Outlook Online. Along with AI-based file suggestions in Teams chats, this feature is scheduled to release in February.
According to a report by The Verge, Teams’ profile cards will also get an expanded view in February that will display a person’s profile, contact information, LinkedIn information, and more.
Microsoft Teams recently added scheduled send, instant polls in meetings, improved search results, and unread message toggles in addition to the new Outlook and Teams integration.
Microsoft introduced the “Communities” feature in its Teams video conferencing app for Android and iOS earlier this month in an effort to take on Facebook groups. This feature allows users to easily organise events, post messages to the group for everyone to see, and add events to the community calendar.
