Mi 11 Ultra sale in India delayed indefinitely, Xiaomi reveals why | 91mobiles.com

It’s been a while since the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra had been announced in India. However, its launch came at a rather tumultuous time, when the last thing on anybody’s mind was a high-end smartphone. So it made sense for Xiaomi to defer the Mi 11 Ultra sale date in India to a later time. The company kept us in the dark about the Mi 11 Ultra India sale for over a month after its launch. Now, Xiaomi India’s official Twitter handle has finally broken its silence about the Mi 11 Ultra sale in India. You can read the complete Tweet below.

The statement doesn’t reveal exactly why Xiaomi India held off on selling the Mi 11 Ultra in India. The only information we get is that there has been a delay in Mi 11 Ultra shipments due to “circumstances beyond our control.”. It could have something to do with the restriction in the movement of non-essential goods in several regions due to local lockdown guidelines. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is one of the few smartphones that will not be manufactured in India, meaning that it has to be imported from China. That muddies the waters a lot, given the recent political tensions between India and China.

It seems unlikely that Xiaomi will sell the Mi 11 Ultra in India anytime soon. Statements such as “circumstances beyond our control” usually mean bureaucratic trouble, which often takes months, if not weeks to get resolved. Then again, it is unlikely that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will fly off the shelves the moment it hands. It is priced at an eye-watering Rs 69,999, putting it beyond the reach of most Xiaomi enthusiasts in India. People who actually plan on buying the smartphone will have no choice but to wait.
