The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be launched in India first while other foreign markets will follow next. Maruti Suzuki plans to manufacture the Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV at its Gujarat facility, which will be a boost to India’s EV ambitions, The company’s Gujarat manufacturing unit at its full capacity is capable of producing 1.25 lakh units per year. India is also likely to become the model’s primary export hub and will cater to the demands of international markets as well.
Toyota’s rebadged version of the eVX SUV
Toyota will also bring out a rebadged version of the eVX SUV after the Maruti Suzuki counterpart debuts in the market. This SUV will also be a child of the Toyota-Maruti Suzuki joint venture and will share crucial components with each other. In fact, the Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV is based on a derivative of the 40PL electric skateboard architecture. This platform which has been codenamed 27PL has been heavily localised to cater to the nature of this SUV.
The Maruti Suzuki eVX was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, and it was recently spotted being tested in Poland. The EV SUV was said to be using a 60kWh, and a 48kWh battery pack which will be good for 550km and 400km of range. The Maruti Suzuki eVX will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV SUV.
