Maruti Suzuki electric SUV spotted testing for the first time, launch in 2025

Maruti Suzuki eVX testing in production-ready form

The Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV has now reached what looks like the close-to-production prototype. A test mule was spotted in Krakow, Poland fully camouflaged which previews what the actual car could look like. At a glimpse, the eVX SUV looks similar to the concept that was showcased earlier and most design features such as the upright front fascia, muscular bonnet and squared-out wheel arches have been carried over.

However, the eVX gains smoother creases and a less aggressive stance when compared to the original concept. The eVX also lets go of the sleek camera-based rear view monitoring system from the concept and takes up a more conventional ORVM carried over from existing Maruti Suzuki cars.

While the interiors of the concept were never showcased, the test mule’s interiors give an idea of what could be expected. The dashboard plays host to a twin display setup which can be found in cars like the Mahindra XUV700 as well as a floating centre console with two levels of storage. The dash is also flanked by vertical AC vents. As is the trend, Maruti Suzuki seems to have also adopted a new two-spoke steering wheel design. The eVX will also get powered seats and ventilated seats could also be on offer.

  • 4.3 metre long Creta rivalling SUV
  • 400km to 550km range from 48kWh and 60kWh battery respectively
  • Twin displays, floating dash, powered seats, two-spoke steering
  • Chunky SUV looks with modern LED lighting signature

While the powertrain details are unavailable for the production-spec model, Maruti Suzuki had disclosed that the eVX could get a 60kWh battery pack with a 550km range on a single charge. The eVX is also likely to get an entry-level model with a 48kWh battery pack with a 400km claimed real-world range.
