Major League Cricket: Seattle Orcas beat San Francisco Unicorns for second successive win – Times of India

0
NEW DELHI: Heinrich Klaasen scored 53 and Cameron Gannon took 4 wickets as Seattle Orcas beat San Francisco Unicorns by 35 runs for their second win on the trot in Major League Cricket at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Saturday.
Opting to bat, Seattle Orcas got off to a poor start losing both openers Quinton de Kock (7) and Nauman Anwar (30) by the sixth over. But Shehan Jayasuriya (33) and Heinrich Klaasen put up a 47-run stand for the third wicket to steady the ship before Jayasuriya fell to Corey Anderson.
AS IT HAPPENED
Klaasen smashed 3 sixes and 4 fours for a 27-ball 50 before falling to Liam Plunkett in the 18th over.

Shimron Hetmyer kept up the Seattle Orcas run charge with an unbeaten 36 off 30 balls to take his team’s tally to 177/4 in 20 overs.
Matthew Wade and Finn Allen gave a flying start to the San Francisco Unicorns run chase before Allen got run out in a bizarre manner and Wade also fell in the next over.

San Francisco Unicorns could never recover from that and kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Marcus Stoinis (15) and Aaron Finch (14) falling in successive overs.
Imad Wasim and Andrew Tye took 2 wickets each while Harmeet Singh came up with an economical spell of 4-0-15-1.
