A Chennai Super Kings (CSK) reunion of sorts will be part of the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC), which begins from July 13 in Texas, USA.
Co-owned by CSK, the Texas franchise of MLC, named Texas Super Kings, will have some of the former and current CSK players and officials together to form the core of their squad.

Leading the team will be Faf du Plessis, who was a CSK veteran before not being retained ahead of the 2023 IPLseason.

He will be reunited with his former teammates at CSK, including all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who will be back on the field as a player after serving as the CSK bowling coach in the 2023 season.
Also in the Texas Super Kings’ dugout will be New Zealanders Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner, both of who played key roles in CSK winning their fifth IPL title last month. Ambati Rayudu, who announced his retirement from the IPL ahead of the final, will also be part of the Texas squad.

The team will be coached by Stephen Fleming, who is also the current head coach of CSK. He will be assisted by Albie Morkel, another former CSK player, and Eric Simmons, who was the CSK bowling consultant in the just-concluded IPL season.

Adding to the star power in Texas squad will be South Africa’s David Miller and the Australian Daniel Sams.
