macOS Sonoma: What’s new
The biggest update perhaps is Widgets. With the latest OS, Apple takes the widgets out of the sidebar. If you’ve ever used macOS, widgets were always limited to the sidebar. Going forward, users will have the option to pull down the widgets on the desktop.
What’s interesting is that users can also bring the associated iPhone nearby and bring all the widgets to the desktop.
Video calls have also been improved with the Sonoma update. Apart from that, the update brings message animations, confetti, hearts and fireworks. The hand gesture is also a nice addition which automatically selects one of these based on the gesture.
Safari has also received an update where it lets users create multiple profiles within. For instance, users can create work and personal profiles to better maintain work-life balance.
There’s also Presenter Overly, which turns your presentation into a background like a virtual whiteboard. Or you can turn your head into a bubble inset and let the presentation monopolize the screen.
