Lock Upp: Azma Fallah reveals she duped people of ₹50 lakh while working for a social media app

Azma Fallah has revealed that she had duped many people while working for a social media app that required her to befriend people and entertain them with her chats. She was talking on the ongoing reality show Lock Upp while saving herself from eviction. On the show, host Kangana Ranaut often gives contestants an offer to reveal a secret and save themselves from eviction. Azma took up the chance and saved herself on Sunday’s episode. Before being asked to make her decision, Azma was shown the words “talk to me stranger”. Azma chose to save herself by revealing the secret and then said, “I worked on a social media app jaha pe maine strangers se paise loote (I duped strangers), about 40-50 lakhs, wo mujhe cut ho k milta tha (I would not get the entire amount). All I had to do was to befriend people. You know, there are people who are looking for friends and these people are rich, very rich.”

She added, “So, I would lie to those people and dupe them of money. Meri family ki condition acchi nahi thi aur meri aunty ko cancer bhi tha. To, mai kuch bhi jhooth bolke paise leti thi. Kabhi kabhi sach bhi bolti thi (My family’s condition was not good and my aunt was diagnosed with cancer. I would either lie or say the truth and get money). My parents are also diabetic and I want them to get treated in the best of hospitals. I am also supporting my Nani whose mental health is not good.”

Azma also said that she was the only earning member of the family. “You could send gifts from that app and those would be converted into money.” Kangana then asked Azma if her job was similar to what was shown in an Ekta Kapoor film but Azma did not respond to that. Ayushmann Khurrana played the role of a tele-caller in Ekta’s Dream Girl. The film also featured Nushrratt Bharucha. 

Azma also revealed that her parents know that she earns from social media, but have no clue how she earns the money. She saved herself from eviction and Kangana concluded the discussion by saying, “I hope no one judges you for this, inside the show or outside.”
