With a slight drop, India reported 20,279 new cases of Covid-19 after 3,83,657 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Sunday. India on Saturday reported 21,411 new Covid cases, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Emphasising that the country is getting equipped to make the 21st century “the century of India”, outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind highlighted the importance of healthcare and education and said these, along with economic reforms, would enable citizens to pursue happiness by discovering their potential.
A 34-year-old man based in Delhi NCR with no history of foreign travel became the fourth person in India to have tested positive for the monkeypox virus on July 24. The West Delhi resident was admitted to Maulana Azad Medical College Hospital in the city three days ago after he showed symptoms of the disease. His samples had been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, on Saturday which came out positive, according to a
