Lily Collins devastated as engagement ring worth £65,000 stolen in L.A. Robbery
Actress Lily Collins was left reeling after her engagement ring and wedding band were stolen from a luxury hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The 34-year-old star had been enjoying a relaxing spa day when the shocking incident occurred. Despite placing her rings and other valuables in storage, she was dismayed to discover that they had been stolen. As the theft is classified as “over $10,000,” the authorities are taking it very seriously.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the theft, but no arrests have been made yet. According to TMZ, there was no sign of forced entry where Lily stored her belongings, which has led investigators to suspect that the robbery may have been an inside job. Police are carefully reviewing the hotel’s security footage for any leads on the thieves.
Lily’s engagement ring, designed by her now-husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell, in collaboration with Irene Neuwirth Jewellery, was a true work of art. The ring featured a stunning rose-cut diamond estimated to be between 2 and 3 carats and worth upwards of £65,000. The couple got engaged in September 2020 and tied the knot the following year in an intimate ceremony in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado.
The theft of her precious rings will come as a devastating blow to Lily, who previously gushed about her engagement ring, saying that it was “exactly what she wanted.” The actress had also expressed her desire to start a family with Charlie, indicating that she would “love to have a family.” The couple met while working on the set of Charlie’s film, Gilded Rage, in 2019 and quickly fell in love.
In 2012, Lily had a short-lived romantic involvement with her co-star Zac Efron from “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile”. Meanwhile, Charlie had previously dated Emilia Clarke and Hilary Duff and had a longer-term relationship with actress Rooney Mara before he met Lily.
