Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has been one of the top grossers in India among other markets. It rolled out Redmi 12C last December and is now gearing up to launch the standard Redmi 12. After countless specs leaks, renders and the recent retail box leak, it is quite obvious that the phone is likely to launch soon. In fact, if reports are to be believed, the phone could arrive as early as next month.
Talking about Xiaomi Redmi 12 design, the phone resembles a lot like the Poco F5 that was released in India last month. It has three circular camera bumps at the back without any camera bump much like Galaxy S23. There’s a punch-hole cut-out at the front and considerable bezels around the edges. You can check out Redmi 12 design in the CAD renders posted by WinFuture and Roland Quandt recently.
The recent retail box leak further proves that the WinFuture renders are bang on. Poco F5-lookalike Redmi 12 is likely to pack in a 6.71” FHD+ 90Hz LCD panel. A punch-hole right at the center houses an 8MP selfie cam while its rear assembly includes a 50MP wide-angle, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP auxiliary snapper.
The report further adds Redmi 12 is to be powered by Helio G88 SoC. There’s 4/8GB RAM and 128/256GB of storage that can be further expanded to 1TB using a microSD card. A 5,000 mAh battery sits under the hood paired with 18W fast charging tech via USB-C port. There’s an IR Blaster, IP53 rating, and Bluetooth v5.3 among others on the device.
Talking about the pricing, we see that the phone is likely to be priced at EUR199 while Xiaomi’s Portugal website mentions a price tag of EUR209.99 for the base variant. It remains to be seen when Xiaomi Redmi 12 launches and what it brings onboard. Xiaomi Redmi 12 is has been spotted in three color variants as you can check the renders.
