LaPolt Law Promotes Five Attorneys to Partner as Firm Sets Pace in Music and Entertainment
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB)
July 07, 2022
LaPolt Law, the Los Angeles-based music and entertainment firm representing some of the world’s leading entertainers and creatives, announced today it is elevating five of its attorneys to partner. The promotions, effective immediately, reflect their contributions to the firm, which has risen to one of the entertainment industry’s top independent law firms.
Renown for its expertise in intellectual property law, music law and high-profile public policy wins, LaPolt Law — founded by Dina LaPolt in 2001 — has experienced exceptional growth in recent years. The new partners — Kristin Wenning, Tom Dean, Dominic Chaklos, Lindsay Arrington and Mariah Comer — have expertise in a range of matters integral to artist careers, including brand partnerships, catalogue sales, executive contracts, and projects in emerging media (NFTs, Web3).
“They are all zealous advocates for our clients,” LaPolt said of the attorneys moving up. “Their contributions have been vital to the growth of our business.”
All five partners also manage fashion, beauty and lifestyle brand partnerships for the firm’s growing roster of top social media entrepreneurs and influencers.
“These appointments reflect their deep commitment to our tremendous clients,” said Sarah Scott, managing partner of LaPolt Law.
LaPolt, a co-founder of Songwriters of North America, (SONA), is known for her vigorous advocacy on behalf of creators, notably that they are paid fairly for their work.
Her legislative expertise in copyright law was instrumental to the passage of 2018’s Music Modernization Act. More recently she worked closely with members of Congress to ensure music professionals were eligible for pandemic relief via The CARES Act.
LaPolt is presently producing Peace, Love & Respect, the Afeni Shakur biopic.
