Kinetic Luna electric scooter coming soon, will be called ‘e Luna’
Kinetic Green’s ‘e Luna’ electric scooter India launch imminent
The electric scooter will be carrying the iconic Luna brand name that was introduced in India by Kinetic Engineering back in 1972. The announcement was made via Twitter post by the CEO, who also attached a picture of the Luna with its creator, Padmashree Arun Firodia. A TV commercial of the Luna was also featured in the post where the popular tagline, “Chal meri Luna”, was introduced.
- The modern iteration of the Kinetic e Luna will be an electric scooter and is expected to be similar to a 50cc ICE-powered scooter.
- The Kinetic e Luna is expected to be priced around the Rs 50,000 mark.
- While powertrain details still remain under wraps, the e Luna is expected to deliver a range of 50km to 100km on a single charge.
- The e Luna could also adopt a utilitarian yet practical design to cater to the current-day B2B and B2C applications.
- The e Luna could also adopt a removable or swappable battery pack design to make it more competitive.
- The e Luna will face competition from other electric scooters from Hero Electric, Okinawa, Okaya, etc. which offer commuter-centric electric scooters with removable battery technologies.
Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions has set up shop in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and aims to initially produce 5,000 units of the e Luna.
