Actors Nani and Keerthy Suresh are busy with the promotions of their upcoming Telugu release Dasara. On Wednesday, the pair was joined by Rana Daggubati as they were promoting the film in Mumbai. Rana and Nani did a ‘bottoms up’, as part of the promotions, and they were pleasantly surprised when Keerthy joined them and effortlessly drank straight out of a bottle. Rana Daggubati and Nani were amused by Keerthy Suresh.

A clip of Keerthy doing a ‘bottoms up’ has surfaced on social media. In the video, both Rana and Nani can be seen amused by Keerthy as they cheer for her. For the event, Keerthy wore a cream-coloured saree and matching blouse. Nani opted for a black T-shirt under a colourful jacket and denims. Rana Daggubati wore a white T-shirt, denims and a beige jacket.

Dasara is a revenge-based thriller set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani in Telangana. Keerthy plays a character called Vennela. She’s paired with Nani in the film, which has been directed by Odella Srikant. In the film, the story is set against such a backdrop where people of the village are not addicted to liquor, whereas drinking is a tradition here.

Speaking about the heavy depiction of drinking shots in the teaser, Nani said in a press interaction that their intention was not to glorify drinking. “The story is set in a place where everything is surrounded by coal mines. People who work in these mines can’t enter without gulping down some alcohol. It’s what keeps them going, literally. Not like these people are addicted to drinking; it’s a tradition for them,” Nani explained.

During the launch of the film last February, Nani described it as “pure raw, rustic, and adrenaline-rush of a film”, which also stars Shine Tom Chacko and Sai Kumar in key roles. Nani has pinned high hopes on the film. He had said in a recent press interaction that Dasara will be a career-defining film for him.

“For a lot of people who’ve said I don’t work out of my comfort zone, this will be the answer. It’s a project that I have great expectations from and I’m sure audiences won’t be disappointed. If it was RRR last year from Telugu cinema, it’s going to be Dasara this year that’s going to be celebrated in a big way,” he had said.
