JugJugg Jeeyo’s new song Rangisari, featuring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani, was released on Monday. The romantic dance number shows the actors serenading each other with colours flying around. The song is a rendition of late classical vocalist Shobha Gurtu’s popular thumri Rangi Saari. The music video of the song starts with Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani entering a dance club together in white outfits, and getting lost in each other’s eyes as they dance together. The two then perform the hook step of the dance number together. The video also features solo scenes of them being showered with colours, keeping in line with the name of the song. They play together with colours while Varun also appears shirtless. The song ends with them giving the signature pose for the film– hand gesture for keeping evil’s eye away.

The song is sung by Kanishk Seth and Kavita Seth, whose contemporary rendition of the thumri had become a sensation on social media last year. They are also the music composers for the song. Reacting to the song, fans said that it’s giving them ‘holi vibes.’

This is the second song from JugJugg Jeeyo that has come out. The first track, titled The Punjaabban song, is also a remix, and is currently embroiled in controversy. Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq, who had sung the original song Nach Punjaban, has said that he will take legal action against Karan Johar and T-series for using his song in the film. Meanwhile, T-Series has insisted that they have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song. They also gave credit to Abrar when the song was released.

JugJugg Jeeyo, directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli. The family entertainer is scheduled to release in theatres on June 24.
