Juan Paz joins Apple Music as Global Head of Latin Music Business – Music Business Worldwide
Widely respected music executive Juan Paz has joined Apple Music as its new Global Head of Latin Music Business.
Miami-based Paz was previously Warner Music Group‘s Managing Director, ADA Latin America & Iberia.
Paz’s appointment to the new role follows last months news that Latin music scored its biggest ever week by streams worldwide on Apple Music, for the week ending Friday, May 13.
Paz joined Warner’s ADA in June 2020.
ADA launched its Miami-headquartered Latin music division ADA Latin in July 2020, headed up by Paz.
As MD of WMG’s ADA Latin division, Paz oversaw Latin US, Latin America, Spain and Portugal.
Prior to joining WMG, Paz led Digital Marketing for the Latin-Iberia region and the US Latin label of Sony Music.
There, he worked with stars like Romeo Santos, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Maluma, and Nicky Jam.
Prior to Sony, he led the launch of the Digital Marketing and Consumer Insights department at EMI Latin America, working alongside artists such as David Guetta, Katy Perry, Juan Luis Guerra, and Pablo Alborán.
In addition, Paz’s work as an artist manager has seen him work artists such as Bomba Estéreo, Monsieur Periné, Javiera Mena, Eduardo Cabra, Superlitio, and Nanpa Básico.
The news of Paz joining Apple Music was first reported by Billboard.

In a post on LinkedIn confirming the news, Juan Paz said: “This is very special. Not just for the responsibility, the size of the challenge, the amazing team and company that I am joining, but because 17 years ago, right after I finished my Master in Music Business in London, I had the privilege to join the iTunes Europe team as an Intern / Music Programming Assistant.
“It was my first real music business experience. Coming back to Apple as Global Head of Latin Music Business really means a lot. Here we go.”Music Business Worldwide
