With an eye towards the rising number of dissent voices in Bengal inside BJP, BJP national president JP Nadda held a close door meeting with West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh in New Delhi today.

Ghosh briefed Nadda about the leaders, especially the turncoat ones who defected to BJP ahead of the Bengal polls, who are raising voices against the BJP leadership in Bengal and also violating the party rules and protocol.

Ghosh told ET that Nadda knew about these issues.

Former forest minister Rajib Banerjee particularly finds mention as he took to social media and supported West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and criticized BJP openly.

Several other turncoat leaders like Sonali Guha, Dipendu Biswaser and Sarala Murmu had apologized to Mamata Banerjee.

Asked if stringent action will be taken against them, Ghosh said, ” Senior party leaders are in discussion with them. We will try to sort out the issues first.” However, the party will not tolerate anti-party comments.

Economic Times gathered from BJP sources that the BJP Bengal chief has briefed Nadda on the overall political scenario in Bengal and chalked out future course of action in Bengal.

Ghosh said the party’s future plans in Bengal were also discussed, keeping in view the changed political scenario in Bengal.

With Mamata Banerjee seeking bypoll in seven assembly seats, the BJP chief said that the saffron party is keeping itself prepared for the polls- be it civic polls or bypolls.

The BJP leadership has also briefed JP Nadda about the post-poll scenario in Bengal, how people have been displaced and many are still not being able to return to their houses.
