At the 44th Reliance AGM, the Mukesh Ambani-led company introduced the affordable 4G-enabled smartphone — Jio Phone Next. The handset has been co-developed in partnership with Google and will run an optimised version of Android that is specially developed for the JioPhone Next. The phone comes packed with features like a voice assistant for hands-free operation, automatic read-aloud of screen text, language translation, smart camera with augmented reality filters, and much more. Jio Phone Next design has been shown off at the event. It has the usual boxy design with the volume rocker and power button on the right and a single camera sensor on the back. The front houses thick bezels above and below the screen, with the selfie snapper on the top. The handset should come pre-installed with Jio suite of apps such as JioMart, JioCinema, Jio TV, and Google suite of apps, including Google Play Store. The company is promising faster software updates and optimisations for lag-free performance.
Jio Phone Next: price in India and launch date
The Jio Phone Next launch date September 10th across the country. However, the company hasn’t announced the JioPhone Next price in India yet nor has it revealed its complete specifications just yet.

I’m excited that today, we can announce the next steps in this vision, starting with a new, affordable Jio smartphone, created with Google. Our teams have optimized a version of our Android OS, especially for this device. It will offer language and translation features, a great camera, and support for the latest Android updates. It is built for India and it will open up new possibilities for millions of new users who will experience the internet for the very first time. And we can’t wait to show you the device later this year,” said Sundar Pichai, Google CEO on the occasion.
