Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit are one of the most popular musical duos of the 90s. They have some of the biggest hit songs under their credit for films like Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander (1992), Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) to only name a few. They parted ways in 2006 and their last composition was for Aamir Khan’s Fanaa.
When asked about having a reunion in 2022 through a concert, Jatin Pandit told Bollywood Hungama, “I have not taken this step and I am not responsible for it. I am always ready but it has to happen from both the sides. But, I have stopped saying now because I was refused so many times. I said it’s okay. I have to respect everybody’s privacy.”
“Partnership aadmi kabhi bhool nahin sakta kyunki itni badi succes saath me mili, saath me kaam kiya. Koi admi k dil me yeh ho ki ‘we have to resolve this. Sit and speak out our hearts and resolve this’, it can happen. Par agar kisi k dil me yeh baat ho hi na… (It’s hard to forget a partnership because we achieved the success of our lives together. Things can only be solved when one wants to sit and resolve the matter, or else it cannot happen),” he further added about missing their compositions.
He also said he didn’t have an issue when Lalit hosted an event and had his name associated with it. He claimed that Lalit never reached out to him even when he was performing their compositions. He said that it saddens him when even the children of his brother don’t come and talk to him.
