I’m a true believer in life-long learning and hard work, to have fun while being serious about focusing on what people need to pass the exam

Hailing from Australia, Gill Gordon-Smith has been named Best Wine Educator, Wine Communicator of the Year, and a Woman of Inspiration in her home country. Not only is she an excellent educator with many years of experience, but she is also a Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Expert and a winemaker under her own label, La Madrina. Italian Wine Academy is delighted to offer students this incredible one-off opportunity to study in Verona under one of the world’s most renowned teachers of wine.

“I’m very excited to teach WSET 3 in Verona, combining my two great love – education and Italy!” commented Gordon-Smith.

“I hope to bring a fresh perspective and a dynamic and sound teaching philosophy that will empower and bring out the best in students. I’m a true believer in life-long learning and hard work, to have fun while being serious about focusing on what people need to pass the exam.”

Gordon-Smith will travel from the other side of the world to give WSET students in Italy the privilege of being taught by a leading light in global wine education. She has specifically chosen to carve out time from her packed Italy schedule to lead the Italian Wine Academy WSET Level 3 course.

“Gill has a profound knowledge of wine and her generosity of spirit, sharing her expertise and her joie de vivre with colleagues and students, is truly an invaluable part of her success as a businesswoman and especially as an Educator,” remarked Cynthia Chaplin, Italian Wine Academy faculty member.

“Gill’s personality is irresistible, and she has an immense capacity to draw students in and impart knowledge in a meaningful way, with a warm and welcoming attitude. I am really looking forward to having Gill here in Verona, not only for our WSET students, but so our faculty can learn from her as well.”

The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines course will be held in English at Italian Wine Academy, Viale del Lavoro 8, Verona 37135 from April 12 through April 16, with the exam taking place on May 6 at the same location.
