IT stocks outlook: ETMarkets’ Investors Guide: Time to be a contra buyer in IT stocks? | The Economic Times Podcast

0
Welcome to ETMarkets’ Investors Guide, a show about asset classes, market trends, and investment opportunities. This is Nikhil Agarwal.

Amid the ongoing selloff on Dalal Street triggered by US Fed’s hawkish than expected commentary, it is becoming tougher to buy stocks. While bank stocks are the worst affected, defensives like pharma, IT and FMCG are outperforming. Smallcaps are looking more vulnerable.

ETMarkets spoke to Dikshit Mittal, Fund Manager & Senior Equity Research Analyst, LIC Mutual Fund to understand how to invest in the current market scenario.

Welcome to the show sir:

Q. In the last one year, Nifty Smallcap has lost over 11% against a flat Nifty. Do you see the pack outperforming once again?

Q. Are there any sectors or stocks where you would like to be a contra buyer at this stage?

Q. Whether it has something to do with Putin or Powell, the Indian equity market has remained resilient in comparison to other global indices. Do you think we are going to fall in sync with the global market?

Q. Any particular themes that you are bullish on at this stage?

Thank you Mr Mittal for the insights.
