iqoo: Iqoo launches Neo 5S smartphone with a 6.62-inch display, 120Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 888 processor in China: Price and other details released – Times of India

Chinese smartphone giant Vivo’s sub-brand Iqoo has announced its Neo 5S and Neo5SE smartphone at an event in China. This flagship new smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor while the Iqoo Neo5SE is powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor and comes as a new addition to the Iqoo Neo series. This smartphone comes with a hole punch design that supports the front camera and has a rectangular module in the back that houses the triple camera setup stacked vertically at the top left corner.
Iqoo Neo 5s price and availability
The Iqoo Neo 5S will be available for presale in China on December 20 and will be officially sold on December 24 to the Chinese market. The 8GB RAM +128GB storage option will be priced at 2699 yuan (roughly around Rs 32,000), the 8GB RAM +256GB storage variant will cost 2899 yuan (roughly around Rs 34,400) and the 12GB RAM +256GB storage variant will be priced at 3199 yuan (Rs 38,000)
Iqoo Neo5s specifications
The Iqoo Neo 5S will sport a 6.62-inch LCD display that supports a 120Hz high refresh rate. Other special features of the display include — 16,000-level brightness adjustment, 100% coverage of P3 color gamut, HDR10+, Eye Care Display, and Seamless certification.
The Neo 5S features a 48MP primary sensor that supports optical image stabilization along with a 13MP wide-angle sensor and a 2MP telephoto sensor. The camera also claims to support super night scenes, slow-motion capture, starry sky mode, big movie mode and dual-view video among others.
The flagship model of this phone will be equipped with a LPDDR5 RAM variants of 8GB and 12GB, along with 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 flash internal storage options, respectively. The company claims that the flagship model is equipped with an independent video chip Pro, that can share half of the GPU rendering work during gaming sessions to ensure a better gaming experience and lower power consumption.
The independent display chip Pro also brings in MEMC motion calculation and compensation technology. Moreover, the company also claims that the frame insertion technology allows low frame games to be increased to 120 frames and can also hold a stable high frame rate image for a long time. The display chip also comes with the brightness adjustment algorithm that works with a light sensor to achieve a screen brightness adjustment function of up to 16,000 gear dimming levels.
This smartphone also claims to be the first smartphone to be launched with a high-conductivity rare earth heat dissipation with high thermal conductivity. The company claims rare earth elements cover up to 89.4% of the device’s space and comes with graphite plates and liquid-cooled plates.
This device packs a 4500mAh battery that supports 66W flash charging. The company claims that this smartphone charges up to 70% in 18 minutes. It runs on OriginOS modified by Iqoo and is also based on Android 11.
