IPhone Users: Apple rolls out iOS 16.6, here’s why iPhone users need to update urgently – Times of India
The two security vulnerabilities were found in kernel and Webkit. “Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS released before iOS 15.7.1,” the company said.
iOS 16.6 also fixes a number of bugs that may have been reported by users.
Overall, iOS 16.6 is a minor update, but it is still worth installing for the security improvements. If you have not yet updated to iOS 16, you should do so as soon as possible.
Here are the steps on how to update your iPhone to iOS 16.6:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If iOS 16.6 is available, tap Download and Install.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
Once the update is complete, your iPhone will restart. You should then be running iOS 16.6.
iOS 16 is almost in its last few months of existence on iPhones across the world. Apple is readying iOS 17, which is expected to roll out sometime in September or October. Apple has already rolled out the first public beta version of iOS 17 and we expect a few more of those before it is rolled out to general public.
