The Cupertino-based tech giant also confirmed that iPhone X and iPhone 8 users won’t be able to download the stable versions of iOS 17 (which is currently in beta) on their devices. This means that users who own these older iPhone models will not only be able to try out new features like the StandBy mode and improved autocorrect but may also need to sell their iPhones sooner.
Apple’s smartphones tend to have higher resale values than Android phones but that might not be the case for these older models. According to a report by price comparison site SellCell, the above-mentioned iPhone models may lose a huge chunk of their remaining value in the days leading up to the release of iOS 17. Apple also rolls out security patches for supported iPhones that protect them from hackers. As the company drops support for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, these models will also become more vulnerable to security threats.

So, this can be the best time for iPhone X and iPhone 8 users to sell their smartphones and upgrade to newer models. These smartphones were released in 2017 and received updates from Apple for six years.
