iPhone SE 2022 5G set to launch on March 8th

A new report suggests Apple will announce its new iPhone SE 2022 5G via a virtual event on March 8th. The new iPhone SE will bring significant improvement in terms of hardware but will ship with a similar design as its predecessor. It will feature a 4.7-inch display with thick bezels and a Touch ID powered by A15 Bionic 5G processor.

Alongside the iPhone SE, Apple will also introduce a refreshed iPad Mini. The iPad Mini packs a 10.9-inch display, an A15 Bionic 5G processor, a 12MP ultrawide front-facing camera. It will come in Space Gray, Silver Green, Rose Gold, and Sky Blue colour options.

iPhone SE 5G could kill iPod touch

Suppose Apple launches the iPhone SE 5G 2022 starting at USD 300 (around Rs 23,000), it is likely to kill its 2019 iPod touch that ships with an outdated A10 chipset. As we have learned from previous leaks, the newer iPhone SE 2022 will be powered by an A15 Bionic chipset and support 5G, which is significantly more than the iPod touch at the same price (assuming iPhone SE 2022 retails at USD 300).

iPhone SE 2020 price in India could drop further

Currently, Android smartphones dominate India’s sub-Rs 20,000 segment. The introductory USD 300 price tag of the iPhone SE 2022 will surely be a viable option for many looking for a reliable mid-range iPhone. Following its launch, Apple could lower the cost of its current iPhone SE 2020 under Rs 20,000. An iPhone under Rs 20,000 will surely grab a lot of audiences who are looking to get into the Apple ecosystem but don’t want to put a hole in their pocket.
