Apple is set to roll out 5G services in India through its iOS 16 beta software update. Since this will be a beta rollout, not all users will get a chance to upgrade to the 5G network. The service will be accessible to those who have enrolled for the iOS 16 beta software update.
“We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed,” Apple said in a statement earlier this month.
How to enroll for Apple Beta Software Program
Anyone who has a valid Apple ID can enroll for the Apple Beta Software Program. As a part of the sign-up process, users will have to accept the Apple Beta Software Program agreement to download the software. The beta version allows users early access to some features before it comes to mass users.
Apple beta software program members can enroll using their iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac or HomePod mini.

It is always advised to keep a backup of the iPhone, iPad or Mac’s data before installing the beta version.
“5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December,” Apple added.
5G services were rolled out in India on October 1. Telecom giants Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio launched their respective 5G networks in 13 cities across the country.
Here’s a list of iPhones that are eligible for the 5G update in India:

  • iPhone 12

Do note if you want to use 5G with dual SIM on iPhone 12 models, ensure that your iPhone runs iOS 14.5 version or above.
