iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max solid-state buttons
At first, Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong Tech, said that the iPhone 15 Pro might not have solid-state buttons after all. He said this was because the new solution would be more difficult to develop. Later, reliable analyst Kuo confirmed the news.
Kuo says the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro is still in the Engineer Validation Test (EVT) stage, indicating that the tech giant can still change the final design. He said that removing the solid-state buttons would make development and testing easier. But Apple suppliers Cirrus Logic and AAC Technologies will lose out because they would have made parts for the new buttons.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro was also said to have a customisable capacitive action button, seen on Apple Watch Ultra, rather than a mute switch. However, it is unclear if this plan has also changed or is still the same.
iPhone 15 Pro leaked render
On the other hand, a new leak of what are said to be official early-stage design renders of the iPhone 15 Pro shows small changes to its overall frame, camera module, edges, and display, as well as a long-awaited new colour. It seems to have a redesigned titanium clamshell body with rounded corners and smooth edges near the screen.
The screen and the phone’s body fit together better, with the glass having a slight curve that blends into the titanium shell. This gives the iPhone 15 Pro super thin bezels that are 1.55mm all the way around. The device still has the same pill-shaped Dynamic Island introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max lines.
It should be noted that several rumours are around the corner about these upcoming iPhone models. However, the company will only disclose the new features only when it will release the iPhone 15 series in the second half of this year, which will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, likely to be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra.
