iOS 17 may drop support for these iPhones — what we know so far

We’re roughly two months away from WWDC 2023, where Apple is set to unveil the first concrete information about iOS 17. But we’ve already heard a bunch of rumors, and the latest claims to know which devices won’t be supporting the new software — rendering them close to obsolete in the process.

According to an anonymous user (opens in new tab) on Twitter, who limits the visibility of their tweets, iOS 17 will drop support for three iPhones and three iPads. Specifically, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, 5th generation iPad, as well as the first generation 9.7- and 12.9-inch iPad Pros. Which is pretty much what we were expecting.
