Intel’s Unison app connects both Android and iPhones with your PC – Times of India

0
Alongside new processors, Intel has announced a new app – Unison – which aims to connect your Intel-powered PCs to smartphones — which could either be an Android or iPhone.
Intel describes Unison as “a seamless multi-device experience enabling an open ecosystem.” It further goes on to say that the app would provide a “continuous and seamless” experience between your PC and smartphone.
What are the features of Intel Unison?
All you need to do is follow a “simple pairing process,” upon which your PC with the Unison app on it will replace the four key features of the phone.
Users would be able to make or receive calls from their PCs, with full access to the phone’s contact list; they can also send or receive text messages and share files and photos between PC and smartphone. Lastly, the users will receive their phone notifications on the PC, and they can manage them from their PC itself.
How Intel Unison is different from Windows Phone Link
Intel acquired the company behind the Dell Mobile Connect app, Screenovate. The main highlight of Dell’s Mobile Connect app was its compatibility with iPhones, and it has been passed on to Unison.
The capabilities of Intel’s Unison app are not new; Windows’ Phone Link can do the same things, though it is not compatible with iPhones, and that is where Unison has an edge over Windows Phone Link.
Unison will launch on select 12th gen Intel Core processor-powered Intel Evo laptops from Acer, HP, and Lenovo this year. Intel plans to bring Unison to 13th-generation laptops in early 2023.
