Mosseri has explained in the video posted on Twitter that subscribers will be allowed to host exclusive chats where they can participate in and interact with fans. Moreover, up to 30 subscribers can be included in a Subscriber chat. Mosseri claims that “This is just one step on a much longer path to provide creators everywhere with a whole range of tools to be able to make a living online.”
Apart from this, creators can also share Reels and Posts directly with subscribers which will also carry the Subscriber badge. Moreover, creators who have Subscriber content will now have a “Subscriber home” tab on their profiles for followers to see exclusive content or can sign up to be a Subscriber.
Instagram debuted the Subscriptions feature in January 2022 that supported Live videos and Stories that were visible only to paid followers. Also, Subscribers who interact with posts will even carry a badge next to their names.
