Injury scare for Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green ahead of WTC final | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Both India and Australia faced injury concerns as Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green suffered nasty blows during the IPL Qualifier 2 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans on Friday, casting doubts over their availability for the upcoming World Test Championship final.
Kishan, who was called up as a replacement for the injured KL Rahul in India’s WTC final squad, encountered an unfortunate incident when he collided with his Mumbai Indians teammate, Chris Jordan.
The collision resulted in Kishan holding the left side of his forehead and subsequently leaving the field. He did not return to bat in Mumbai’s chase against Gujarat Titans. Vishnu Vinod was named as the concussion substitute for Kishan.

Meanwhile, Green, the Australian all-rounder, was struck on the left elbow by a sharp delivery from Hardik Pandya in the second over of Mumbai’s innings. Despite the blow, Green displayed resilience and joined the batting lineup in the sixth over after the fall of Tilak Verma.
Green’s all-round abilities are crucial to Australia’s prospects in the upcoming WTC final.

The status of their availability for the prestigious match remains uncertain, and both teams will closely monitor the players’ recovery in the coming days.
