0

Indore, the culinary capital of Madhya Pradesh, is famous for its vibrant street food culture. The food bazaars draw crowds from not just the city but from all over the country. Its epithet of being one of the cleanest cities in India extends to its food markets. In 2021, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India awarded the ‘Clean Street Food Hub’ tag to two popular markets ‘Sarafa Bazaar’ and ’56 Dukan’. These bazaars along with a few other shops offer a diverse range of lip-smacking snacks, drinks and desserts and some unique creations like poha jalebi, which have put Indore on the global map of culinary destinations.

If you want to impress your sweet tooth, head to Jai Bhola Jaleba Bhandar where you will get giant-sized jalebi that they call ‘jaleba’. The hot jaleba is paired with cold rabri, creating a heavenly dessert that you just can’t resist.

2. A1, Sarafa Bazaar

Indore’s Bhutte Ki Khees is unlike the common bhutta we get everywhere. It is mashed corn simmered in milk and spices. While you’ll get it in multiple shops in Sarafa Bazaar, we recommend trying it at A1.
