Inderjeet Modi: Social media does take a toll on one’s mental health
Actor Inderjeet Modi feels social media has added to the pressure for actors, nowadays.
“It’s not easy to maintain your social media presence along with one’s career. Till sometime back, we were competing with fellow actors but now you have more on the list including influencers and content creators who have evolved over the years as new competitors in the creative space. At times social media does take a toll on one’s mental health, but I try hard to keep the momentum and stay neutral,” says the Rang Jau Tere Rang Mein and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan actor.
Last seen in the film Ardh, Modi asserts that it’s better to do quality work instead of quantity. “Definitely more projects mean better finances but in the long-term one’s career suffers. That’s why I do only selective work as for me quality of work matters the most. I want to be happy while doing a project and play my characters with conviction. Why to waste my craft on things I don’t believe in. That’s more the reason I prefer doing roles that are pivotal part of the story, irrespective of the length.”
Modi was in the state for the shoot of his next short film. “I was here for an untitled short film. The story was such that I couldn’t say no. Then it was being shot in Lucknow and Varanasi – both cities were on my wish list. My friend took me around and it was a lifetime experience for me. Besides, I am occupied with the Aashiqana where I play parallel lead and have recently wrapped OTT series CA Topper Tribhuvan Mishra,” shares the Amma ke Babu ki Baby actor.
