IG Live May 18: The State of Teen Mental Health

0

After the COVID-19 pandemic began, mental health challenges among adolescents and young adults surged.

In 2021, 57% of teen girls said they felt “persistently sad or hopeless” and nearly half of 18- to 25-year-olds experienced a mental illness or substance use disorder. While increasing numbers of young adults sought out mental health treatment, workforce shortages of mental health professionals persisted and were linked to increased rates of youth suicide at the county level.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re checking in with the experts for a live discussion on the state of adolescent mental health — join us!
