Any ‘dosa news’ tends to always grab eyeballs online. This is no surprise, considering that dosa is an all-time favourite dish across the country – and is also well-known globally. Yesterday, an Instagram reel showing a woman making “Spiderman Dosa” in Chennai went viral (Read the full story here). Before that, a video of a Cheesy ‘Matka Dosa’ left internet users unconvinced (Read the story here). There are so many examples! It seems to prove that when it comes to experiments and innovation, dosa is a popular choice or target – depending on your point of view. Recently, another Twitter post about dosa has divided the Internet. However, this time, it is not any fancy presentation or weird filling that is the focus.

A Twitter user (@Sassy_Soul_) posted a picture of dosa along with chutney and something that was not sambar. She captioned it, “Had dosa with chole for the breakfast and it tasted way better than dosa sambhar.” Now, chole itself is a famous breakfast dish, especially in North India. This pairing of two popular dishes from the two ends of the country interested many netizens. Some felt it was a good idea while others felt that dosa should just be “left alone.”

The post has received 58K views so far. One user said, “That’s the beauty of Dosa. Chutney, Sambar, Sagu, and now chole too.” But another user classified this amongst other bizarre food combinations, stating, “Chocolate pani puri, apple pakoda, oreo bhajia, idli sambar ice cream, dosa with chole …and the list goes on.” A third user added, “As long as there is no cheese or excess use of butter, I’m ok with any combination.” Read some of the other reactions below:
